On November 24th, the second EY Greater China Sustainable Development Officer Summit and Annual Best Awards, organized by EY Greater China, successfully concluded in Beijing. The forum, themed "Gather Confidence, Toward the Future," aimed to recognize and celebrate pioneers in sustainable development practices in China, encouraging listed companies to play a leading role in the country’s high-quality development process. Representatives from various government departments, regulatory agencies, industry organizations, academic institutions, and leading enterprises gathered to explore China’s innovative, green, and high-quality path to sustainable development.

At the event, EY China Chairman and CEO of Greater China, Chen Kai, delivered the welcome speech. Yu Hui, Vice President of the China Listed Companies Association, and Mei Dewen, Secretary-General of the Beijing Green Finance Association and Vice Chairman of the Beijing Green Exchange, also gave remarks.

The "EY Sustainable Development Annual Best Awards 2023" winners were announced at the meeting, celebrating the latest achievements of Chinese companies in the field of sustainability. Many government leaders, industry leaders, experts, and representatives from participating companies were present to witness the awarding of the prestigious prizes.

The selection process for the awards was based on global assessment systems and ESG standards, with an independent judging panel consisting of leading domestic experts. After a fair, prudent, and standardized process, the awards recognized 16 outstanding companies, 2 exceptional individuals, 15 excellent cases, and 2 special awards, highlighting the tremendous achievements made by Chinese companies in exploring innovation and sustainable development.

China Shengmu’s case, "Towards a New Natural Economy Model Centered on Benefiting Nature," was honored as an Excellent Case of the Year. This recognition is not only a significant acknowledgment of Shengmu’s sustainability efforts but also a praise for its commitment to sustainable development principles. The honor will further motivate Shengmu to continue upholding sustainable development and contribute to building a better society.

During the event, a "Financial Support for Corporate Low-Carbon Transformation" roundtable and a "Green Transformation Leading High-Quality Development" roundtable were also held. Representatives from China Shengmu’s sustainable development department participated in the ESG-related roundtable discussions, sharing insights on Shengmu's ESG work, key topics, and achievements.

Before the meeting, Xinhua Finance conducted a special interview with China Shengmu’s Vice President of Finance, Niu Yuesheng. In the interview, Niu provided detailed answers about Shengmu’s ESG achievements and key results. He emphasized Shengmu’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and its contribution to the advancement of China’s dairy industry.
